GOSS Part Numbering PDF Print E-mail

How does our GOSS toroid partnumbering scheme work?

  • For a standard GOSS core there is NO MATERIAL specified in the part number.
  • The term " TT " is used instead of a single " T " in the part number to denote " Toroidal Transformer", a general purpose power transformer as distinct from a Measurement Transformer which is the usual application for a toroid. Toroidal Transformers do not require the low loss, high performance steels, nor such a rigorous test regime.
  • All toroids will be supplied 'bare steel' (no paint or covering) unless there is a " P " specified at the end of the part number which denotes a polypropylene covering. The poly coat will add 1.5mm to all surfaces and may need to be accounted for when space is a limitation.
  • An " X " at the end of the part number denotes a special post process, usually remarked on the order and entered as a text description.

Example: T21038045 is a Toroidal core, made from GOSS of dimensions ID=210 mm, OD=380 mm, SW=45mm.

Example: TT6511055PX is a Toroidal Transformer core, poly coated, made from GOSS of dimensions ID=65 mm, OD=110 mm, SW=55mm. The "X" denotes 'fixing' with resin as per prior arrangement with the customer, as noted on the order.
