How our Mumetal toroid core part numbering scheme works.

An "M" after the dimensions indicates that this core is constructed from Mumetal.

Coatings

All toroids will be supplied 'bare steel' (no paint or covering) unless there is a "P" specified at the end of the part number which denotes a polypropylene covering. The poly coat will add 1.5mm to all surfaces and may need to be accounted for when space is a limitation.Poly coating a Mumetal core adds to the internal stress and will degrade the magnetic performance.

Example: T557040MP is a small poly coated Mumetal Toroidal core of dimensions ID=55 mm, OD=70 mm, SW=40mm.

Example: T25038080M is a Mumetal Toroid of dimensions ID=250 mm, OD=380 mm, SW=80mm. We would need to make this core up from two strip widths such as 40+40 or 50+30 to achieve the 80mm stack.

Dimension Tolerances

All dimensions will be rounded to the nearest millimeter, we do not accept fractional dimensions.

  • ID -0.8 mm + 0 mm
  • OD -0 mm + 0.8 mm
  • SW -0 mm +0.8 mm
